Wednesday 5th July 2023 - University of Manchester Transition Day
Date of Event: 5th July 2023
As part of the transition from primary school to Dixons Newall Green Academy, we are taking our future Year 7 students (Class of 2028) to the University of Manchester. It is important for all students to experience a day at the university to know what the top of our mountain looks like. The day will also be an opportunity to meet teachers and other students, as well as to find out more about Dixons Newall Green.
As part of the day students will be taken from Dixons Brooklands Academy, as our building is yet to be complete, via coach to the university. During the day, students will have a talk from the university, a campus tour and some activities based on what to expect in September. Students will return via coach to Dixons Brooklands to be picked up at 3.30pm. Students are also able to make their own way home, if their parent / guardian consents. Please indicate this on the consent form you were given in your packs.
Students may bring their own packed lunch or alternatively the university will provide one. Please indicate your child’s preference on the consent form along with any allergies.
Students must be dressed in their primary school uniform to allow for easier identification. Students must also bring with them a reading book, 1x pen and 1 x pencil, a school bag or rucksack to carry their belongings and a water bottle.
