Kat Martin
Trust Assistant Principal- Attendance
After studying to achieve a bachelors and masters degree at the University of Lancaster, Kat began her teaching career in Grimsby and is proud to have trained with the TeachFirst training programme.
Kat spent four years teaching mathematics and geography and during this time held the positions of Assistant Head of Maths, Head of Geography and Head of Year 7. In 2016, Kat became KS3 Progress Leader in Oldham, responsible for progress across KS3, for all subjects.
Kat then stepped out of teaching and worked as a Land Referencer for WSP, working on projects such as the High Speed 2 Rail. In 2019, Kat joined the Middle Leadership Team at Dixons Trinity Academy and worked across culture and curriculum in the academy, overseeing Years 7 & 8 as well as leading on transition and attendance. Kat worked closely with curriculum leaders to ensure that learning was well sequenced and meaningful throughout the five years that students spent at DTA, to enable them to make exceptional progress.
In 2024, Kat joined Dixons Newall Green Academy as Assistant Principal for Attendance. Kat is passionate about supporting the young people of Wythenshawe to achieve their best, climb their mountain to succeed at university or real alternative, and have the best possible life.
